An idea...

I've never built a coil, but I subscribed to the list in hopes of
learning how, for when I can scrape up some cash/time. I just had an
idea though, and wonder if anyone has tried it.

What if you put one secondary inside another? Like, for example, a 4
inch coil inside a 6 inch coil? I guess to get higher voltage, they
would be wired in series, right? Wouldn't you get more winds closer
to the primary? Would this avoid the melt-down that I've seen
discussed that happens when you use two coils of wire on the same core
for a secondary? Would there be tuning issues?

Just an uneducated brainstorm, but I thought I'd toss it out there.
