Joseph,

That's kind of a large secondary for a 15/30 NST.  Large coils like
that are generally powered by pole pigs or at least a couple of PT's.
Generally the largest secondary used with a 15/30 NST is about
6" by 24", although it could be a little bigger.  Making the coil
larger won't make the sparks longer.  Only more power can do
that.
