No problems at all with doing this.Certainly I have made 50ohm dummy load
resistors up to the 500W mark for radio work. In this case non-inductive
resistors had to be used but for low frequency work it wouldn't matter. Just
make sure there is plenty of airspace around them for cooling. I have also
seen them clamped to Al sheet.
