Hi Gary and coilers, i stripped a sid harvey ORBIT the other day using the
frozen chip then solvent. everything went well with the chipping and solvent
worked well, when scrubbing the secondary with a toothbrush i opened up a
hole to the fine wires also. It turned out it is also the burned spot which
killed the output. I'll have a go at peeling off the burned stuff. One of my
industrial chemist friend said try disolving a chip of tar then pour it thru
a paper towel. if you see mica or particles it probably will dissolve ok but
if it turns to a stickey glob it has something other than tar and probably
will be a problem to strip. good luck cul brian
