Hi Eric,

The field of the electrical sciences is very large.
For starters, I would suggest that you visit a public library or a university 
library
if you are near these facilities. Go into one of the large book stores and 
just look around.
The ARRL Radio Amateurs Handbook is a good place to start as are any of the 
introductory texts on radio engineering. If you would tell us more about 
yourself we
could then make some specific recommendations.
