I also use three of these in almost the identical set up that you have.  I 
got these from Mr. D. C. Cox (Dr. Resonance).  Mine run cool.  I have never 
noticed them getting hot.  Maybe a little warm, but never hot.  I do use a 
piece of aluminum about 3/16" thick by 3.0" high by about 8.0" long on each 
side to mount them and connect them in paralle.  Probably getting some heat 
sink action with the aluminum.
