Good advice...

Wavetek 27xt IS a great all around meter.

BUT... Don't take any LIVE measurements with
this meter... although full featured, it's very
electrically fragile. It's got the accuracy of a $100
meter too. (Note: our live measurements are on
coils of the 10 - 30kVA range, you may have
better luck on smaller coils.)

We use a B&K LCR meter and a Fluke 87 III for
measurements here at kVA Effects. The Wavetek
is a spare/backup meter.

The BEST voltmeter for TC work is a Simpson
panel meter mounted in a small box with banana
jacks for test leads. Never fails and can be used
to monitor voltage drop and other live voltage
measurements.
