Re: Music Instrument Tube Amps conversion to Tesla use?

Hi Al,

In my oppinion I would keep the amps as is, as they are worth much more
then the components needed to build a VTTC. The 6L6's are only 20-30 watt
(plate dissipation), and I am not too sure how well they opperate in class
C mode. I am sure you could build a VTTC around a audio amp tube as the
6L6 (actually, there are some old articles describing just this, "lil'
Tesla coil" or some thing comes to mind), but realize it will be "lil'".
Why not just use a 833, 803, 813, 304, 811, etc., and a MOT? These can be
had for not much more then a new 6L6, at least the good pulls.

Regards,

David Trimmell
