joseph,
www.usamfg-dot-net has 50 amp contactor's in the bellow $20.00 range, not
exactly sure as to what your after but i would sugest using one of these
to bring in the power to a system because many electrical and mechanical
interlocks can be built into the system for safty. if your after a fused
disconect with the big throw switch to bring in the power then i think
your going to pay some good money? sometimes i have seen some at flea
markets but you'll just have to look, they come in 30 and 60, 100 amp,
then the fuse desired is used in each.
the contactor alows the use of an emergency stop switch being placed on
the controler board and at easy reach of you while the coil is running.
any problems, hit the "panick button" and all is dead. while your
working on something, hit the button to kill all control power so no
operating voltage will flow. many safty switches can be added to cabinet
doors and such to kill the 120v control voltage also.
hope this helps,
marc m.
