Hi, Chris is exaclty right, toasting a maxwell really sucks(and it was
$120.00). Now that I have my Geek Group MMC, my spark length has increased
at least 10% and I also have the ability to change my capacitance when ever
I want. Also, My maxwell would get warm after a minute or two, but my geek
MMC always stays cool. For your money a MMC is going to work out better than
a Maxwell. One other thing that I should point out is that not all Maxwells
are the same. Some are designed for prototyping and have a shorter life than
a standard one. Maxwell used to have a really nice webpage with model
numbers and life expectancies, although after they were bought out by
General Atomics I think the page was shut down.
