The wrapped 36 wire would be terribly resistive at RF frequencies since the
current travels in the outer surface of the wire (but that layer is pretty
thick at our frequencies).  I can see no advantage at all and it may hurt.

If you already have it, then it is cheap :-)  Aluminum is pretty poor at RF
conductivity too since it's outer surface forms a thick oxide layer.  I
always would recommend copper, but if its free...

Last year, somone made a cap out of mud or clay...  So I guess the sky is
the limit.  =:-O   However, a nice MMC is the norm.
