Hi Mike,
          A little while ago, I looked into pros and cons of using 
IGBTs instead of bipolars or MOSFETs for a switchmode cap charger and 
found that most are disappointingly slow. For the proposed design I 
eventually settled on some well-spec'd bipolars which serendipitously 
came my way.
