Connect the sweep output to the X axis of the oscilloscope, and the
output
signal to the Y axis, with the oscilloscope in XY mode. The signal
output 
of the signal generator goes to the input of the circuit under test. 
With some added electronics you can convert the output to decibels (I
have
used an instrument made by HP for just this purpose), but this is an 
overcomplication.
