5-7 kV DC at 500 uA to 1 mA will work great for your VDGRF spray screen.  Be
sure the belt to edge of pulley width is at least 1 inch so that the spray
screen does not "see" the bare pulley directly or all your charge will just
leak off the edges to the pulley.

Ground the upper terminal and set the machine on a table in from of you in a
totally dark room.  Let your eyes adjust and then you can see the spray
pattern.

Run your pulley around 2000-2600 RPM for good operation.

Best performance is with a postive spray.  This gives a much thicker output
spark.
