	I just looked at that.  He's using the "flyback transformer" as a
straight transformer, not in the "flyback" mode.  The peak output
voltage will be the turns ratio times the 35 volts of the power supply. 
If that's enough fine, and the diode as shown WILL protect the 2N3055
from second breakdown.  Without the diode and with a high enough voltage
transistor the output voltage will be a lot more.
