I just remembered another source for Tesla coil plans.
The "Tesla Coil Construction Guide" by J.H. Couture
has detailed plans for a whole family of Tesla coils,
from an itty bitty "bug zapper" on up to a
high-powered beast capable of making 8 foot sparks.
You can get several sets of plans plus lots of
supporting information (theory of operation,
performance analysis, etc.) for the price of one book.
Not a bad deal.
