when I built the filter, I simply soldered all of the leads together... The
MOV's as you said are quite easy... just straight down the line.  For the
caps and resistors (if this is wrong, somebody please say something!) I took
all four leads that came together (as they're wired in parallel) and
soldered the entire bunch together... seemed to work OK until something blew
in the circuit.  My hunch is that Don (our wonderful stockroom-guru) ordered
an incorrect part number for the MOV's (I checked the others... they were
OK, but forgot to check the MOV #) causing an overload.  Thankfully, all of
my transformers were free, and the St. Olaf physics dept. picked up the tab
for the NST filter, so I didn't lose any money.

I have pictures, can send them if you'd like.

i now have all the parts from digikey for the big filter
the drawing i have is not very clear on how to wire
everything up.looks like the movs straight from hot to
ground,the caps and the res are what i am not sure of.
is one leg of cap tied to one leg of res and res tied to
cap and so on thanks for all your help
