Actually, the theory says that magnifiers are at least as good as
regular two-coils system, and that they -can- achieve better
performance,
through reduction of losses and operation at high break rates obtained
through total energy transfer in few cycles (just one or two), -if-
adequately designed. If a magnifier is built with low coupling at the
primary-secondary driver transformer, and operating at low break rate,
it will at most perform as a regular Tesla coil.
