Steve,
I have made many orders with USAMFG under $100. If you have an order of at
least $25, they should process it.

If you look in old Radio Amateur's Handbooks, you will see 1-2 KW power
supplies for tube amplifiers that use strings of 450 volt electrolytic
capacitors in series for output filtering. There are many surplus sources
of HV electrolytic caps in the 250-450 volt range. Just be sure to put a
resistor across each one to equalize the voltages on the caps, and to bleed
off the charge when the supply is turned off. As electrolytics are
relatively high impedance components at RF, you should also put a ceramic
0.1 - 0.5 mF cap across each electrolytic to bypass RF.
