A couple more HV books from Oscar, also at great prices...

All,

It turns out that Oscar Publications has a couple of other HV publications
that are also excellent values. Unfortunately, unlike the Arora and Mosch
book, both of these are paperbacks:

"High Voltage Engineering"
Author: C L Wadhwa, ISBN No.: 81-224-0613-0 Nov-2000 PB, 281pp, $5.80 USD

"EXTRA HIGH VOLTAGE AC TRANSMISSION ENGINEERING" (2nd Edition)
Author: Rakosh Das Begamudre, ISBN: 81-224-0278-X (PB) IIBFN:AB-25559,
580pp, $8.11 USD

Wadhwa's book is a great HV laboratory techniques book. In fact, some
sections look quite similar to Meek and Cragg's High Voltage Laboratory
Techniques, but brought up to date. It also has excellent photos of various
high voltage test and measurement equipment, including a 1.8 MV transformer
cascade, 6.4 MV impulse generator, a 1.05 MV series resonant test system,
and huge voltage dividers.

Begamudre's book is also very technical - the discussion of E-fields in
bundled conductors and corona prevention is very thorough. It has sections
covering voltage gradients of conductors, corona effects, lightning and
lightning protection, switching impulses, insulation characteristics of
long air gaps, and EHV testing techniques.

Both are excellent books for the serious high voltage experimenter and
researcher. I have no connection whatsoever with Oscar Publishing or Dr.
Gogia - these books are simply too good for serious HV
researchers/experimenters to pass up, they're in print, available, and VERY
affordable. The URL is:
