Black Moon! In this forum, it is usual to reveal your name, we are
friendly.

It is a good thing to realize, that the whole ringdown is over and done
with, even before the gaps align.

If you look at the dark spot on the electrodes (the place where the arc
touches the electrodes) sourrouned by whitish dust (which forms outside
of the arc) on this adjustable 300BPS srsg, you will see that the arc
spot does not cross the top of the electrode, indicating that the
initial statement is true.

Therefore, it would not be any good to use brushes: the ringdown will
always be over, before they make contact.

Heat transfer is not a problem.
