Your not bad off at all, as long as your planing on getting a variac.  I
have probably the exact same trasfomrer Integral something or other.  I
found a variac that converst 120v to 0-280 volts,  that is probable the best
way to go.  and i got mine for 15 plus S&H(which doubled the price),
although its only 7 amp rated.
