What the devil is the pinkish-purple, diffused cotton candy glow in the
middle of the toroid?

Well I must say that I have built the heaviest amateur built coil on the
planet!
The MMC in the base is rated at 600Kv -at- .186uf. It weighs over 3000 puonds.
The torroid takes a winch to mount it on the coil.
The building is 16ft high. Aaron and I spend 12 hours trying to get the top
load on it, and when we finally do, we realize that the hangar doors are 6
inches shorter than the heigth of the coil!!!
Now the sun is comming up.
We are stuck in the building with a gigantic tesla coil, Crap!
More pics soon....
