Does anybody know off hand how this wire works, and to what degree?

A few year back I was bored and hopped on a plane to go to Surplus Sales and
visit the swamp at the ConAgra compound in Omaha.

I met Bob and took a look around one floor of the warehouse (a large several
story building). It's amusing to see the bizarre stuff if the catalog in
person.

The pics show the building, part of the Teflon wire isle, one of the isles
of test equipment, and the lovely 50kV 0.05uF mica cap as in the catalog and
on the website.
