CSI also quit selling caps to coilers. The problem was not the manufacturer
but the buyer who "spec'd" the capacitor for CSI to build. Had the
"manufacturer" been given good information and then specified the cap to
use for the service and it failed, then you can blame the manufacturer. But
when the cap is specified by the buyer who hasn't got a clue, the buyer is
"rightly" responsible.

continually blew up after only a few minutes
of use (20-30 in all).  Were the caps specified correctly.  Absolutely.  The
problem?  It was a capacitor design problem which wasn't detected during
vendor tests as they didn't accurately produce the actual operating
conditions the capacitor would see as well.  This is a frequent occurence
with capacitors we buy. To me, it just sounds like a very rude, belligerent
customer, or customers.  The original poster emailed me directly and claimed
CP has a history of tesla coilers returning the caps due to failure which
may all have influenced their decision.

Remember, tesla coil duty is very hard on capacitors.  High voltage
components is a risky business to begin with.
