Bigger Toroids

Question for TC experimenters,

Richard Hull had a magnifier with an extra coil of only about 12 inches long
but with a huge toroid. Performance was astounding - up to 10 foot
streamers I believe.

So, can the same improvements be made with a a normal 2-coil TC? Has
someone run experiments with increasing toroid size, leaving everything else
the same except for changing the primary tap to retune? I think these
experiments should be done with a break-out point (e.g. thumb-tack) so
radius-of-curvature effects are minimized, and one sees mostly changes due
to increased toroid capacity.

Also, what does modeling of ever-bigger toroids yield?

Thanks,
S. Young
