Hi Alex,

Microwave oven transformers have a pretty low output voltage, so they will
only start arcs at a small distance. Once the air is ionized the arc can be
stretched out.

Flyback transformers are not 60hz transformers. You have to make a driver
circuit with some power semiconductor. In a flyback circuit, the switch is
turned on and once current gets flowing in the primary it shuts off,
creating high voltage because of the inductive kick. There are alot of
schematics for flyback drivers out there. Mine just uses a 555 driving a
MOSFET (with pin 5 grounded for less than 50% duty cycle). people usually
wind their own primary of about 10 turns. The easiest way to find the high
voltage return is to turn it on and see which pin it arcs to.

nothing big i mean like 1-2mm so im comfused. im using a 2100v 1.000uf cap.

also on my flybakc transformer ther is a crap load of connecters on the
bottem. i fogured there would be one saying 120v but nothing there is a
160v i bealeve so what and how do i hook it up.
