Hi Captain,

Not sure if this is of use but...  I was just unpacking an order of stuff 
from McMaster Carr on one of the items is a 7 inch dia aluminum hand wheel 
that bears a striking resemblance to a corona ring:

They have flat, dished, spoked, solid core....  All kinds...

They have three pages of them in all shapes and sizes.  Kind of expensive 
(mine was $40) but they sure are nice...
