Thanks Jim, I'll do that.

It's a pity ESD bench mat material (anti-static mat) would be no good for
this, as I have tons of it.

I do have some 100mm wide copper tape (~1mm thick) that I could solder
together with some copper braid (so that it folds up quite small).
