In the auction business, the act of artificially driving up the bid in the 
manner you suggest is called 'shilling'  and it's illegal according to 
Ebay's rules. If you suspect this is the case then Ebay urges you to report 
the item # and the incident to them and they will investigate.

(Terry; I know this is somewhat o/t but since coilers do a lot of shopping 
on Ebay...)

I was wonder what this power supply is good for in
tesla land.

Also a bidder with zero history enters and bids up the price
in increments until the high bidder is outbid. The entry of
a zero history bidder has happen to me on occasion. If I'm
outbid, I just get out of the bidding, because I think its
somekind of game to drive up the price.
