Sorry about the long delay in a response.

The easiest recipe for a half wave is to copy a good wire length
quarter wave coil design and then double the inductor length. Also you
split the quarter waves calculated top end capacitance between the two
ends.   It may seem strange that you can simply add another inductor
section without redefining the inductance and self capacitance, but
the bottom line is that these L.C devices behave very much like
mechanical resonant cavities where doubling the length of a chamber
or  rope, or  pool of water etc. simply provides another place for a
wave (or it 's conjugate) to repeat itself.

It is also possible to build a non wire length bi polar coil,  Mr.
Cooper has a finely crafted example of one of these posted on the
Tesla Web Ring. My recollection is that he used one of the Tesla coil
design programs.

The ends of solenoids are sharp so breakout is expected, you can solve
this by capping the ends of the solenoids with metal spheres and
attaching 3/4 inch pipe to remote whatever remains of your desired top
end capacitance (most of the top end gets eaten up by the solenoid end
spheres and pipe).
