I havent handled a NST before, but from what I understand they are
internally current limited. In other words, unless you disassemble it and
remove some pieces of metal between the core and shielding legs, you cannot
externally limit the current to more than what the shunts will allow. As for
a 2 inch secondary, I am beginning to build my first coil and have chosen a
3 inch secondary, most poeple use 3 inches or larger because any smaller
results in somewhat dismal performance.
