Re: 1st Tesla Coil LIGHTED YAY!

Ed and Ravi,

I've got a quick lash up of 8 MMCs and a 5 seg. Cu pipe gap sandwiched
between two 8 by 11 cutting boards. Actually pretty effective for minimal
cost and 90 minutes of time. Only used it for a total of ten minutes of run
time, and it did have one power arc hit a cap. Doesn't appear to have done
any damage, though, as it can still pump 40 plus inches out of my 4"
secondary. I'm going to a gap of my own design soon, and plan on building
another Cu gap that can handle more than the above. I'll happily send it to
you guys, and you should have decent gap and cap ready to roll. I don't
know what power level you are running at, but a small fan will help. I had
a muffin fan integrated into the center of this, but tried to cram too much
crap in too small of a space, and that got hit with an arc and died within
thirty seconds. Any fan donors out there? Let me know, and I can get this
sent out ASAP, no charge.
