That picture (or one quite similar) was published in the back of some 
medical journal as a puzzler (what caused this?).   A physician at a party 
had the picture and was trying to stump people..I glanced at it and said 
"Lichtenberg", totally amazing everyone.


As I recall, the patient didn't have any appreciable pain in this case, and 
the figure actually disappeared after a couple days.
