hi..

there seems to be a slight misconception here...   but I am going to assume 
you want the number of turns per inch of secondary and a total length of 
wire needed...

but here it goes

1. you need to know the thickness of the wire you want to use,   example if 
the wire is 1/10 thick you get 10 turns per inch of coil     so if your 
coil is to be 20 inches tall at 10 turns per inch thats 20X10 = 200 
turns   for length of wire needed multiply 200 by the circumference of the 
pipe/form.

or use the Pi ...   PiX D = Circumference

D=4    C =  4XPi      ( Pi = 3.1415)      sooo...   4X 3.1415 = 
12.566    and multiply that by the number of turns    12.566X200 = 2513.2 
inches or 209 feet of 1/10 inch thick wire is needed to wind the coil...

find a wire gauge chart and select the wire needed for your application..
