Hi Chris,

I think the bucking is because the rotary speed is too close to a
multiple of the mains 60Hz rate.  For example the break rate is
probably near to 180 bps, or 240 bps, etc.  I'm assuming the
break-rate is not variable because you're using an induction motor?
You can run the induction motor using a variac to slow it down
slightly anyway, and it may help or at least change the sound.
(This way you'll know it's that type of problem).
