I've found hat there is a particular gap configuration best suited to
a particular coil. Single gaps work well for some coils, multiple
gaps for others. Likewise with airblast, the amount of or lack
thereof. Also with the coupling constant. Every coil configuration
has its own peculiarities. Theoretically, a single gap is best as it
has the fewest conduction volt drops. However, that takes no account
of other factors which might favour a tradeoff between lowest
conduction voltage and better quenching ability.
