Thank you for all the really good advice, especially about determining the values of unknown meters. Yes, I would very much like the software you described. Can you please send me a copy or a link to a copy?


I knew the TCT output is AC and that I was going to have to rectify the output before sending it to the meter. I was hoping that since the output level has to be high enough to drive the bi-polar LED that it should be high enough to overcome the forward voltage drop of rectifier diodes. Since all I'm looking for is the meter to show the strength of the signal as I change the frequency so I can determine the frequency with the maximum output, I thought I could just use a Schottky diode as a simple half wave rectifier. I'm worried that cutting the signal in half might make it too low for my purpose.

With my extremely poor vision, I don't think I can properly determine the signal strength from the brightness off an LED. I'm going to finish the tuner and just start trying different ways to rectify the output and see what it does on the meter.
