Hi Mike,

Yes. Once the buss caps are all charged and ready to go, it needs a current "pulse" to start the system going. That single pulse fires one side of the H-bridge and then the system takes off by itself from there. I wrote this up if you have not seen it:

There certainly may be other far better ways to get the circuit started too!! I am going to think about that tonight...

Is the sidac only used to start the oscillation, and then it is self
oscillating?
