Gates,

I think most coilers opt for the flat spiral coil nowadays.
A V-shaped coil does offer tighter coupling but optimal
coupling is normally pretty loose (< 0.2K) so the flat spi-
ral coil can easily allow this much coupling and the increased
difficulty in the construction of a V-shaped coil becomes unnecessary.

Ok I want to build a second coil but I'm debating if I should go with a flat or V shape Primary coil.
What's the advantages?
