Gary,
I live about 20 miles to the east and work even further east so it
is seldom that I am in the area of Skycraft but if I have business
in Winter Park I, myself, usually make it a point to at least do a
quick run through. If nothing more than to refresh my memory of the
kinds of stuff they have. I remember walking in one time and a
demolition man was bringing in 4 or 5 NSTs to sell. They were like
new from a building that was damaged by one of the hurricanes. They
gave him $5 each and then put them up for about $70 or so
later. They did not last. I only wish I had the forsight to have
cornered the guy in the parking lot and doubled his money. :^)
There is another surplus site up in Sanford just under the the I-4
and 17-92 overpass. I have not been there in a long time. They are
not quite as organized as SkyCraft but have some different kinds of
stuff. I am sorry I don't have more details on them but they are at
the back end of that small industrial area just to the west side of
I-4. That is assuming they are still there. I used to see him along
with the lady from SkyCraft at the government acutions here at Patrick AFB.
Oh, you might want to know that if there is something specific that
you are looking for and don't see it there you need to ask because I
understand they have two wharehouses that are not open to the public.
Enjoy Disney,
Russ

I'll be visiting Disney World in Orlando with the kiddies in a couple
weeks. The last time I was there was about 7 years ago, and I had also
visited a place called Skycraft Surplus, in Winter Park, FL, near
Orlando. Can anyone make a recommendation yea or nay, as to whether
it's worthwhile? I don't expect to come out with NST's or MMC caps,
(truth is, I don't actually need anything) but I do enjoy a good
dumpster dive through interesting junque. Just wondering if it's
changed since I was there last.
Thanks, Gary Lau
