Re: Cheap vacuum pump

Ok I didn't specify all the stuff I was just assuming one would make sure to drain all the oil out of it before trying to inflate a tire so here we go.

1- Make sure to run the compressor, while it's running tilt it in all directions until oil stops coming out of it. 2- Do not plug the compressor with the air hose attached to it before you connect to the tire, the compressor does not have a shut off and you will blow the air line if you don't guess how I found that out LOL ;-) 3-Never leave inflating tire unattended and check pressure often,if not equipped with number 4 ,unplug compressor before removing air line. 4- A small air tank pressure shut off and a pressure gauge would be better but not necessary. 5- These compressors were not meant to run dry so once in a while spray a little penetrating oil in the suction side of the compressor to prevent failure.
6- Run the compressor for a few minutes to drain excess oil.
7- If in doubt don't inflate your tires with it just use it as a suction pump!
I've had mine for over 5 years and it's still in A1 shape.

I'm not sure if it is a good idea to inflate car tires with a fridge
compressor. The two I have played with as vacuum pumps blew some oil out the
exhaust, and oil in your tires ain't good.
