A follow-up:  I broke out my German and composed an
e-mail last night with a carefully worded e-mail in my
best "Deutsch".  I received a reply this morning in
PERFECT ENGLISH from the gentleman's son!  Seems he
has injured his hand and won't be blowing glass in the
foreseeable future.
