Hi Peter,

I'm going to try be very careful with my words so as not to make matters any worse. I have no angst and Dan is the one who declined his invitation to the Teslathon, I did not rescind it and never would for anyone, for (almost) any reason. As far as I am concerned, Dan's RSVP for the Teslathon is still valid.

Without going into the details or rehashing events, Dan's apology is the result of short email exchange, which I think caused both of us to take things a little too personally. Email is a very bad format in which to have a discussion such as the one we had because of possible misinterpretations and the very impersonal nature of the medium. Some folks will even take the lack of a speedy reply as an insult. We have all witnessed flame wars that started over practically nothing. I would much rather discuss personal disagreements in person, the results are usually much better and come quicker with minimum ruffling of feathers. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss the entire matter on a personal level with Dan if he were to change his mind and attend the Teslathon. If not, I would consider the matter settled.

With respect,

I remember Einstein and Stephen Hawking having to admit they were wrong too. Fair enough, that is what science is about. If the science has moved on with a better answer, that is not a problem. That should not be a personal issue as I seem to be getting the feeling that this current thread is. If you were wrong, then so was I and I am very keen to hear the right answer as I don't have access to IEEE publications. I am sure this can be resolved without angst, and I am sure your presence at the Teslathon would be valued. I would hope Ed Wingate feels the same.

Can you give me the gist of the electromagnetic explanation? Also perhaps Ed could clarify that this apology settles the matter.

Peter

.. Therefore, I would like to publicly
declare that I was wrong with my original
assessment of the operation of the Marinov motor
and that Mr. Wingate's statement regarding the
action of the Marinov as being electromagnetic
was indeed correct, ....
