The question of "overvolting" transformers seems to come up so often that it almost seems worth while adding a note with every post which states that essentiall ALL power transformers saturate at around 120% of the rated primary voltage (even less with some newer core materials) and that applying more voltage than that will only result in smoke, not in more output voltage. Should also be something about primary to secondary to core insulation, etc.
