Hi, having rewound a few during 12 years at rebuilding alternators and
starters for special purpose like 300 volts to power a radio to very slow
speed for battery charging stationary diesel. the problem say typical
delcotron alternator, has 14 poles on the rotor, 7 stator winding poles, 3
groups for 3 phase output. total of 21 poles on the stator... 21 only
divisable by 7 or 3 and 14 poles on rotor if you changed this you would also
have to change the stator mechanics to fit. if it worked i would be in the
alternator biz making 120 volt power plants. cul brian f.
