This one is coming up again! The thorium is added to increase the
conductivity of the tungsten rods because the tungsten is not as conductive
as might be needed. At least that's what the welding supply people have told
me. Health risk? Nahhhh. Grind them into powder and than snort it. I'm sure
that it wouldn't be to good for you. Other than that, no risks.

Hi all,

Well...I would like to know all of what happens when you use the
thoraited tungsten rods as well as all of the radioactive and health
hazard stuff please.

Also, how does the Th affect how tungsten rods operate?  Or, would
pure tungsten rods be better?  Or...what?
