It is a fact that Tesla had done classified consulting on
communications and potential weapon systems for the military prior
to WW II. Since he died in the middle of the war (1943), the FBI
went to retrieve any classified information. Since Tesla was
extremely reclusive in his final days and no one but the FBI was in
the rooms, exactly how much of what was taken, or even what was
there to start with, remains shrouded in faith and legend.

Several have stated that Tesla died broke - no one knows for sure.
Westinghouse was paying all of his expenses at the hotel where he died.
It should also be noted that when Tesla died, the FBI took all of his papers.
