(Somewhat off-topic, but I feel its worthwhile to correct mis-information
ASAP.)

Aluminum cans are NOT produced by extrusion from a "slug" but by
deep-drawing from a thin sheet of aluminum.

Alcoa Corp, the largest producer of aluminum in North America, has a
detailed description of the aluminum can fabrication process at:
https://www.alcoa.com/rigid_packaging/en/about/making_cans.asp

Also, beverage cans (soda, beer, etc) are the only ones commonly made from
aluminum; paint, shaving cream, etc are made of steel.
