Resistors can be used in a number of different places.  The most common
use for "special" resistors that I know of are in Terry 
filters or other filtering applications.  Resistors are also used in
other places, such as bleeders for the capacitors, but these aren't
"special" and wouldn't normally be listed as specific to Tesla coils.

Also be warned that a number of items on ebay and such may be listed as
being "great for Tesla coils" or something like that, whereas they are
often useless.  So make sure you know what you need.
